Welcome Home Stevens Family
In 2004, my family relocated from Post Falls, Idaho, to a new area. We settled on a 700-acre property, where we could hop on the four-wheeler and ride to breathtaking viewpoints overlooking Black Lake.
Little did I know that 18 years later I would marry one of the grandsons from the family who owned land across the canyon. Now, I find myself living on the other side as well—a twist of fate I never could have imagined.
My childhood days were filled with outdoor adventures, often centered around the playhouse my dad built. I was rarely without my constant companion, Rocky, a loyal goat who followed me wherever I went.
One vivid memory involves Elmer, the farm dog, who had a knack for wandering onto the school playground to find me. His unexpected visits often earned me a trip to the office, where I'd call my mom with the familiar update: "Mom, Elmer is at my school again." Unlike the other dogs, Elmer had his own way of doing things—or rather, not doing them. While the others herded with purpose, Elmer could usually be found napping in the hay.
The property now belongs to the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, and my childhood home no longer stands there.
I’m deeply grateful to my parents for moving here—this place will always be home.
With Love,
Miriah ♡
